Reeperbahn Startup Pitch: What you can expect at the Startup Stage Smart City
Hamburg has just been declared Germany’s leading Smart City by the digital association Bitkom. So of course, this topic could not be omitted at our Startup Stage on November 7th as part of the Reeperbahn Startup Pitch. Our partner here is Smart City | DB.
Geospin has the data for the Smart City
Geospin is a software company that helps cities become smart. Based on the method of machine learning and over 800 geodata sources, Geospin’s algorithms find comprehensive solutions to spatial problems. How can a mobility concept of the future be organized? How will real estate prices develop? Which location is most suitable for certain retail stores? Such questions are answered by the 2016 startup, a spin-off of the University of Freiburg, which also has an office in Hamburg.
Angel drives the last mile home
ANGEL Last Mile GmbH already bears in its name the problem it wants to tackle, namely the famous last mile in the supply chain. At the heart of its logistics concept is a platform that links free capacities of fleet operators with optimised dynamic route planning and supports the drivers via app. ANGEL concentrates its services on evening hours from 6 pm to 11 pm and is now active at 27 locations throughout Germany. Important cooperation partners include publishing houses such as Funke Mediengruppe.
NÜWIEL electrifies bicycle trailer
NÜWIEL from Hamburg has developed an electrically driven trailer that can be easily coupled to any commercially available bicycle. Sensors measure whether the trailer is going uphill or downhill and what load it carries. Accordingly, the electric motor provides more or less thrust or brakes on sloping terrain. In practice, for example, the invention has already proven itself in a project with the IKEA store in Hamburg-Altona. NÜWIEL has also received several awards, most recently the Digital Logistics Award in September 2019.
25ways finds the best way to work
Cars are still the most frequently used means of transport. This leads to traffic jams, exhaust gas pollution and people coming to work already stressed from the start. 25ways from Hamburg offers a platform that provides an overview of all mobility options and determines the best route to work. A wide variety of means of transport can be used. The recommendations depend on a number of factors, some of which can change daily, such as the weather or construction sites. 25ways is targeting employers and has already won HHLA over to the joint MoinMobility project.
The jury consits of Dr. Meike Niedbal, Head of Smart City | DB, Maurice Kügler, Investment Manager High-Tech Gründerfonds and Harry Evers, Managing Director ITS Hamburg 2021 GmbH. The pitches will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
